Xeriscaping and using native plants in our landscapes does not mean gravel and ugly plants. Join Sharon Bokan and Deryn Davidson of Boulder County Extension as they explain and show that using native plants in a landscape can provide an easy care, low water use beautiful landscape. Sharon and Deyrn will discuss how to incorporate native and xericscape plants into a landscape. This will be a classroom talk followed by a tour of examples of native and xeriscaped plants in the Fairgrounds gardens. Directions to Boulder County Natural Resources Classroom: Meet in the Natural Resources Building (NRB) at the Boulder County Fairgrounds. Enter the Fairgrounds from either Boston or Nelson and you will be on Fairgrounds Lane. From Fairgrounds Lane, the NRB is located where the road curves in the southwest of the Fairgrounds property. The NRB is the large brown brick two- story building. There is a sign at the entrance. (Don't confuse the Natural Resources Building with the Clover Building, also located at the curve in the road, but east of the NRB). The classroom is down the stairs to the right.
